Procedures for importing Butter and Cheese
1) The first thing to do is to go to the following website to check if the factory producing the product is on the list of foreign enterprises that are allowed to export products derived from terrestrial animals to Vietnam or not. Factory of any country, look up in the list of that country. If the factory’s name is not on the list, imports from this factory are not currently allowed. That factory must work with the local Ministry of Agriculture to be granted an export code to Vietnam.
2) The next step is to apply for a quarantine permit with the veterinary department. The process is as follows:
The dossier includes the following documents:
- Quarantine application according to Form 19 for terrestrial animals and
- Certificate of business registration
- Health Certificate form of the exporting country (possibly from another customer, not necessarily his own
3) Register for animal quarantine.
To know which items need to be quarantined, related processes and documents, we refer to Circular 25/2016/TT-BNNPTNT on terrestrial animals.
The registration process for quarantine is as follows:
Dossier:
- Quarantine registration form (form 3): 3 copies printed on both sides on A4 paper
- Quarantine license (original)
- Invoice
- Packing list
- Health Certificate (original)
- Foreign trade sales contract (goods on air need, sea don’t)
4). Food safety inspection
The test registration dossier set includes the following documents
- Imported food inspection registration certificate (3 copies)
- Foreign trade contract (sales contract)
- Commercial invoice
- A detailed list of goods (packing list
- Bill of Lading
- Product quality statement (1 full set for each product)
- Certificate of analysis (if any)
After registering with the specialized inspection agency, open declarations and take samples. If the inspection results meet import quality, then get the certificate and submit it to the customs for customs clearance.
